2008 Hood Pad

I bought the 08 Hood, Grilles & Hood Pad for my 04. Does the hood pad wires on each side have to be connected to the car? It seems like an overkill to me as I want to cut them off at the Pad? Is that OK?

There was a thread on this subject a few years ago. Do not remove them, they serve as static wicks;

The 08 hood does have the wires. I connected them on my 08 hood install.

Art 138 gave you good advice.

Go ahead don't hook them up, I am sure a little electric jolt wont hurt much, will get you going thats for sure

The wires are for radio noise suppression... keeps the ignition noise from showing up on AM and some FM bands.
