94 roadster wont start!!!

hi i was wondering if anyone could help. i cant get my snake started!!! i replaced battery about 5 yrs ago. i had a trickle charger always on when not in use. last week the car just died. the previous night the car started just fine and also on the morning of death. when i tried to start back up to put in garage, the car just wouldnt start. i put my charger back on and in an hour or so the green light came on but still wont start.
today i tried unhooking the battery for 5 mins but no luck. the car did start at one point for about 2 secs. mostly it just clicks and the alarm light flashes as well as the other lights. i guess i just have to get a new battery but i hoped someone out there would have a cure!! thanks

Sounds like the car alarm is in lock down. Could be the battery, could be the Key FOB. Could be the computer module on the alarm system. Start with batteries in remote. Then car battery. Then tow truck to dealer. Happened to me - Tow truck....

Most likely it IS your battery that is causing you the problem.

When you disconnect the battery or when the battery is dead the alarm is armed and that is why the lights are flashing. You will then need to disarm the alarm with your remote. If the battery is dead the alarm will be armed again.

Also, if the battery is dead or low, the car will not be able to hold its idle.

I am not an expert on this, but I recently had problems with mine and that is what I learned from the experts on this board.
