\'95 RT/10 side sill anti-chip

I'm having my facia and side sills painted, and went to the local Dodge dealer to purchase the clear anti-chip pieces (3 per side) for the sills. Hold on to your butt!!! Only sold in individual pieces and priced at $55.00 per piece. That times three per side is $330.00 big ones. That's more than the price I'm paying to have all three parts repainted. I'm not sure what the dude was smoking with his coffee but has Dodge fallen and bumped thier head? Anyway, has anyone purchased these before and are they available in a kit? If not, where can this stuff be purchased by the sheet? I'll cut them out myself. Thanks in advance for any input.

This must be your first trip to the Dodge parts counter. Just wait till you need some real parts for the Viper. Wanna guess what a hood costs?

Yep! I have a good relationship with the local Chevy dealership's body shop manager. He has repaired two vehicles under insurance claims for me in the past. I've been in the showcar business in the past, and these guys do that quality work. They were actually excited about doing it. In fact, the $300.00 price he originally quoted me was to paint these parts while they were still on the car. Needless to say, he said I'll save some money by bringing in the pieces separately. Sometimes it's who ya know. Lucky I guess!

VERY lucky. I hope that the works is as good as you would expect. I got quoted $400 for the front bumper alone from a local shop a while back. They did an "okay" job but you could tell it was repainted. Now after a turnpike accident with road construction, I need to get the front bumper and hood repainted. Quote...... $4000!

I think your insurance company will cover it under Comprehensive if the obstruction was "Moving" when you hit it.

The factory clear pieces are high $$, this was acknowledged by The Wizard in a thread back in the summer. The suggestion was to use clear bra installed by a local shop, still way cheaper than the DC pieces.

As of now there is a claim with the Turnpike Authority. We will see what happens.

Easy cheap solution. Contact The Viper Mind, they advertise on this site. Had my sills painted and ordered a complete set of 3m overlays for around 40.00. Can't remember exact cost but price was right and they are pre cut with instructions and squeege.
