Both plugs look identical. What is the difference?

Just guessing by the part number, I think maybe the RC12ecc plug have more resistance built into them for radio interference prevention? The R12ecc is the standard plug on gen 3 cars at least, so I don't know that I'd have any real reservations with using them on an earlier car if they physically look the same and have the same threads and general dimensions.

Double copper in the ecc vs single in the lyc. I just put a set of rc12ecc plugs in my gen ll. Runs great.

The Champion reference information is a shadow of what it used to be back in the 70's. Their codes are not standard: a 3-letter code could be 3-things or 1.

    Thanks
