98 and Earlier Fog Lamp Lenses?

I am looking to purchase a '98 all silver GTS. I have noticed, among other things that seperates this year from the others, that the '98 and earlier models have a plastic looking lense over the round fog lamp opening in the front fascia. The '99 and newer Vipers don't have this. I wouldn't say I am particularly found of it, and wanted to know if this is something that can be removed??? It seams to me I have seen other monotone silver GTS's on this forum without the plastic lenses...

The lenses just pop off. Just make sure you put some tape around the tip of whatever tool you use as to not scratch the inner painted surface, but the lense do have two clips that are part of the lenses that hold them in place.

The lenses have three tabs that fit into 3 slots. You can remove them as described above. You'll probably want to fill the slots with some type of body filler and paint with touch-up. You may want to consider keeping them on as they do protect the glass fog lights from stone cracks and probably provide a small aero advantage. Personally, I like them. Jusy my .02.
