\'98 RT ALARM QUESTION...I KNOW...I KNOW!!
Looked through the archives back a couple of years. Lots of "alarm issue" posts but nothing (that I can see) on my specific issue.
1. Locked car using remote FOB.
2. Ate dinner at local pub.
3. Went back out, pressed unlock on FOB, nothing. Pressed several times. Nothing.
4. Broke into car through back glass. Alarm goes off. Attracts attention. Embarassement sets in.
5. Forgot how to disarm alarm. Further embarassement. Found manual and figured it out. Disarmed alarm, went home.
6. Played with FOB. Doesn't lock or unlock car doors.
7. Checked FOB battery. Fine
8. Resynced using "depress both FOB buttons for 10 seconds until chirp of horn". Worked as described but afterwards still no door lock/unlock using FOB.
Anything else to check? Any particular fuses to check. If so , where? Should I disconnect the car battery, short out positive post to ground for a while and then reconnect in the hopes of resetting the EEM?
Many thanks in advance!
