OK, I bought the five dollar tool at NAPA and tried tightening the Schrader valve on the low side (which is leaking!). It still leaks. I tried loosening it and re-tightening - still leaks. What next? I do NOT want to have to take this into a Dodge dealer if at all possible.

You have to change the valve, it's crappy. Come to this problem frequently on cars. I think the new valve is 5 bucks roughly. Unless ya wanna let the freon out to the atmosphere, ya have to go to somebody that has a recovery system. (before all ya "tree-huggers" panic, it's leaking out right now!) Get a couple cans of 134A and fill back up....

That's what I was afraid of. Oh well, thanks.

A local service guy will evacuate it for 60 bucks.

Or, I could just psssssss... :)
