When I removed the sport shims from my GTS the front tires were visibly worn on the inside edges within 2,000 miles. Aggressive alignment will cause uneven wear front and back. Would not recommend track alignment for street.

similar experince here:

One guy had a simlar aggresive alignment running kuhmo's and it carved up the tire like a christmas turkey on the street, driving a few hundred miles to events only.

Are you running stock pilots. they will last a little longer, but will wear more either way.

It that fine line of struggling between a dual purpose street and track car vs. dedicated track car. I am going thru same thing.

Stock pilots.I run neg camber even on my daily driver pu truck to wear the tires more evenly. So I'm trying to figure out what the max neg camber might be without destroying the tires. Some wear toward the inside I can tolerate.Nothing more useless than wide tires that can't put down a footprint in a corner.Might as well be bicycle tires.More replies needed please. Can I get away with about 2 deg neg up front? How about 1 deg or 3/4 neg up front?.Rear?Thank you all. Sorry, no new info for you, but I just wanted to say that I am surprised how fast my inside corners are wearing, with an "agressive street" alignment. I'd say if you are not tracking the car, don't bother. But stock alignment was wearing my outside corners on track, so maybe a bit of negative would even out the wear. I think you need to experiment, and find out what works best for you and your driving style.

i don't know how agressive my alignment was but my tires wore out almost right away after removing the shims!!! . Don't do it unless you know what your doing. i had to buy four tires because the fronts wore right out and the rears were not much better to use with new fronts so i had to replace them also.

Here is what Bill P recommended to me one time for a street/track alignment:
Front Camber: -1.5 degrees
Rear Camber: -1.1 degrees
Front Caster: 6 degrees
Front Toe: 0
Rear Toe: 1/8 in
Front Pressure: 34 psig
Rear Pressure: 30 psig

Pulling the shims gives you 1 deg neg in the front. If this ate your tires on the street I believe I will go with 3/4 deg neg up front. So what about the rear?More comments suggestions please.Bill P and Bob W have interesting suggestions but I think a little too radical for a mostly street driven car as far as tire wear goes. Henry and Janni?Jon B?Currently have 1/4 neg on the front of my pu truck. Thanks, Bruce
