:dunno:
I thought I had the alarm issue figured out. Most time I’d wash the car, I’d have alarm problems for a few days. But just recently it’s been going off and I haven't washed it nor has it rained. The car is normally parked in my garage at home or at my shop, so I don’t worry much about it. But now I’m getting ready leave on a 3 week vacation and I’d like to have the Vipers alarm armed while I’m gone. I just worry that it will be going off continuously in my garage the whole time.

My question is, where should my Dodge dealer start with trying to cure this problem. I’m leaving next week and I know when I take it in, the alarm won’t act up and so I’ll get a big run around. Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a glass break sensor inside the Gen III?

I had the car armed outside my office all morning. Nothing happened. I drive out to run an errand, lock the car, and before I get 50' away the alarm starts going off. I had to leave it parked on the street unlocked.

I DID have the windows cracked, so I wondering if the Viper has a pressure senor inside, that could be what’s setting it off.

You probably have a bad hood switch. Have the dealer replace that, it is a cheap shoddy design! I think one day at work my alarm went off about 20 times, after the car cooled down as always. Bottom line was I had a bad switch and the alignment was a bit off on my hood, one side was higher than the other! I haven't had a repeat since. Good Luck!

I keep having the issue on my 06 coupe too. And we have done about everything we can with putting move padding above the hood swithc to see if that will fix it. I guess im finally going to have to go to the dealership, becasue without a dobut, it goes off EVERY time I arm the car and leave it over night. Its so embarising to go to my car, click unlock and have the 3 beep warning that let me know, at some time throughout the night it went off.... Or in a parking lot when i go to a store.

When its home in the garage, I dont even set the alarm anymore, i dont want to be woken up by it in the middle of the night. What a POS ...

Even dads 05 viper had issues with the alarm too.

Again... another quality item by Dodge !!

I have it at Dodge now. I also got a PM about moisture in the fuse box that could be causing the issue. I'm trying everything now.

Yes Jon, I too have been woken at 3:00am in a panic to grab my .45 and then find my car keys. SOB

Dodge said hood sensor. The tech pulled up on the hood near the windshield/drivers side and the alarm went right off. Back ordered so I get to go back next week.
