Alarm ISSUE on Gen 3\'s ?? At least 05/06

I know a lot of folks and posts have come up about the gen 3s having alarm issues. And I kinda laughed thinking most of them were isolated issues. But as of a few days/nights ago, my car is now having that same issue. Its so bad, I have had to stop using the alarm until I can get it to the dealership as its ******* off the neighbors as it goes off at 1 am for NO REASON. And even in my garage neighbors can still hear it.

I know for a fact the 05 I bought my father is having the same issues, and now mine is too. Is there some factory issue they are having with these cars?

Any insight? Any recall?

The hood switch is a cheap shoddy design, I had the same problem. If you take out the switch you will find it has a lot of play in it. If you place the plunger end in a vise and press down on the bottom with the palm of your hand it will snap back tight. That should work for a while!

I took my car back to a dealership and had the hood switch replaced, and they also realigned my hood which happened to be a bit higher on the same side the switch is on.

I am pretty sure your alarm goes off after driving it when it cools down, I have been lucky since I took my car in I haven't had a repeat yet. I had it fixed in July 05.

Aight, I also know this thread is going to complete degrade and lose all its relivant value, now that Zen and I are going at it.

jon, you know it really hurts me when you put me down for my monetary shortcomings. Its not everyone that can afford a nice 06 sc'd and one for his father to boot. Perhaps someday you will share the wealth or just pay for one of your car rentals

hahah.. ok I was like where is he going with this.. and then you nailed me...

I always get a good laugh outta the rental car jokes. Cuz the reality is, you always take care of me.

But how about that time way back when, where I rented one from you courtesy of Dodge, for warranty work on the viper. That counts somehow right?

Then that 1 time I actually did rent the van and paid (Im sure extremely discounted rate though)

And
Then that 1 time I rented the Lotus Elise (at what I KNOW was an extremely discounted rate).

Ok, can those count? (lets not talk about the other 20 free bees )

PS. This has to do with my alarm how?
