Explaining Viper things to you
When my starter went out in my '01 it was going to be about $350 from my local dealer. That includes the 20% discount they give me for simply asking for it. I ended up getting the one from Rock Auto - NSA brand I think - and it has been flawless. I have a thread at VA on it. I did have a local shop rebuild the OE Denso for $60 so now I have a spare. You might see if your alternator is rebuildable if you are looking for a cheap way out. I used Cleburne Starter and Alternator.

Yeah i checked rock auto and they didnt have a part. I dont mind spending money on the car but it does bother me when its an alternator and realistically is nothing that special from a standard ( i understand if not many are made, supply and demand yadda yadda but still, its damn alternator).

Ive been looking around for a shop that would rebuild the alternator and havent found anything yet. Hell my local parts guys didnt even have the right harness to test the alternator.
