Audio Problems -Door Speakers Not Working

I am having problems with the stereo. The door speakers are not working. I checked the shop manual- Door speakers are all on one amplifier. Subwoofers are on another. The manual is not specific which amp works the door speakers. Each amp has a fuse and I will check them first. Anyone have a clue, experience with troubleshooting the stereo system.
I can't get anyone to do a house call, no way I'm driving it now.
I think the problem resulted from the flood we all encountered at VOI 7.

Hi Jeff,
I had a problem with one of the door speakers a while back, so to test if it was the amp or the speaker I simply switched the amps. If memory serves they just slide out of the bracket and they are both the same.
That way you can tell if its the speakers, the head unit or one of the amps.
I am sure you have allready made sure the fader isnt all the way to the rear right?

Ps. By the way, the problem with my speaker was one of the wires had cut where it goes thru the door.

I also had a wire abrade not quite in the door rubber ******, but in the side firewall ahead of the door hinge.

I also have a '94 amp on eBay. When one of mine died, I bought a 4-channel amp (same price as a replacement and takes less room.) Bidding is only up to $20...

My 99 RT had the same problem on the driver's side. Turned out that the door chafed the wire enough to ground it out and kill the door speaker.

Pull out that rubber grommet that is between the door and the body and pull on the loose speaker wires. If they come through, you know where the problem was.

If you find out you have component problems let me know. I just replaced speakers, amp, and head unit from a 2000 RT/10. Will make you a good deal on whatever you need.

Between the sounds of my exhaust system and road noise, I can't hear my radio anyway!

If anything were to go wrong, I probably wouldn't even notice it.

When mine went out, it was the RCA plug in the trunk that had a broken wire at the molding. Try a jumper wire from one side to the other first or swap the amps.

Also, make sure the amp is getting 12v.

Just contributing another possibility...

I had a problem with the actual power plug on one of my amps. I had to make a special tool, remove the wires from the plug, snip off some of the wire and re-solder the pins and re-assemble the plug. About a two hour job. It probably doesn't make a difference but that was the amp for the sub-woofers.

I also had ALL of the wires in my driver's side door break. Literally every wire in the loom that goes through the door was cut/broke in the exact same place. Listen for clicking noises inside your door when you open it. If you don't hear them, the solenoids for the seat belt aren't working indicating you may have this same problem. Since you have it on both doors though, I doubt this is it.
