Well, in preparation for VOI 10, I am looking for an enclosed car trailor. Given the Vipers unique size and low front fascia, I was curious if anyone had any recommendations on a particular trailor?

Don't really want to drive 500+ miles in an ACR one way... and don't want to ship it unless I have to. Thanks! Also, if any members have any photos of their trailors they could post, that would be great! I'm sure there are some awesome customized trailors out there in the VCA community :)

I did a lot of research before buying a Featherlite enclosed trailer. They have a beavertail which makes the entry height a couple inches lower than the ride height of the trailer making it well suited for the Viper. Best of all they are all aluminum which makes them pricey ($12-$15K) but they'll last forever.

Thanks for the support V10kingsnake!

My recommendation for buying a trailer would depend on how much you plan to use it and also how much you want to pay. The big name in trailers is Featherlite, but they are also very expensive in comparison to other trailer manufacturers. If you want to keep your resale value high, Featherlite is the way to go.

If you just want a weekend warrior trailer that will do everything you need, then I suggest either a Haulmark Elite II trailer or a Pace American Shadow Daytona. I've had both and they hold up pretty well. They also hold up their value pretty well too, but not as good as the Featherlite.

You can find a lot of barely used trailers for a good price on For Sale: race & performance cars, engines, engine parts, trailers but if you insist on a new trailer, I have a few suggestions:

1) get a driver's side door so you can open your car door and not have to climb out of the window.

2) get a winch in case you ever need to load your car if it's not driveable.

3) go to Pit Pal Products - Get Organized and order their low profile ramps that make it easy to load low cars like ours.

4) if you need custom work done on your trailer, i recommend BSE TrailerWorks - Race Car Loading Ramps and Race Trailer Customizing & Repair near Nashville, TN (tell Richard I sent you). His prices are great and there is nothing he can't do.

5) I use ramps that go over the wheel wells that make it easy to open the door in the trailer (with the driver's side door) and also makes sure you don't bang your side sills in the trailer. BSE TrailerWorks built mine and the pictures on their website are from a couple of trailers I've owned in the past.

6) Make sure you have the right tow vehicle for what you're pulling.

I could write a book about transporting exotic cars with trailers (580,000 miles can't lie!) so if you have any questions, feel free to call me at 240-994-1343.

Check with Zdigital on this forum. He had a beautiful trailer built for his Viper.
If you want to pm me I can give you his cell number and you can call him to get all the info.:2tu:

SnakeBite... That is a cool looking trailer. I really like the "snake eyes".

I thought about a "Viper" type overlay for my trailer but I was worried that "people" would know exactly what was inside while parked. In other words..."valuable car and accessories inside, steal me".Paranoid...maybe but I don't mind taking extra precautions with my car.

The downside of "stealth" trailers is to park next to a really nice trailer with graphics like "Snakebites"

So, then, what kind is it (and what size), and would you recommend it after having owned it? Do you have any suggestions about what you would have gotten but didn't think of until you used it for a while?

that is an awesome trailor, truly worthy of a Viper! whoever did those graphics have some skills. Were they painted on? What is the white "beam" on the top for?

Timberwolf 24' V-nose. I will be upgrading to a trailer with a small living area up front since my family comes to events with me.

Thanks, the graphics were done by our IL VCA President(Alex). Graphics are a wrap and the white beam you see on both sides of the trailer are awnings.

Can anyone say what the maximum ramp angle can be to load a non-lowered Viper? Like 1 foot rise in 10 feet or ? degrees or ?

Snake bite, I love the trailer graphics but would be worried it would attract some thieves knowing what is inside etc...

I run a tripple axel 24' TPD with a 18" ramp extension, works well with the lowered 97 RT.
I would recomend the side doors to get out of the car though.

Mine was a simple Haulmark. It was a good trailer, not lightweight but of average quality. As far as loading the car on the ramp door, I would crank the toungue way up this lowers the rear angle making it easier to load the car. I didn't even need to use 2X4's to make it not scrape.
