Hello,

I have a 97 GTS with 15k and I want to change the pads to something that makes less of a mess. It's a street car but when I drive it I like to drive it like it was meant to be driven. I love the way the stock pads perform but I hate cleaning the wheels everytime I drive it. Any suggestions besides using the brakes less?

Thank you.

EBC greens has less stopping power. I've had them about a year, no dust and I am happy with them. Good alternative for a showcar or sunday cruiser.
I would not take the greens to the track though.

That's not good. I guess I will stick with stock. I wash my car weekly so brake dust is not an issue....

Sbkim, Don't be discouraged by the less stopping power comments. Yes, they don't have the same stopping power as stock but it's not like you are risking you life out on the roads. They aren't a joke or anything, they stop very well in all types of aggressive driving.

They just aren't a track pad, they make other colors for that.

Trust me, try them, you won't be sorry, WAY less dust. Also, buy a can of VHT 1500 black spray, tape off the pad material and spray the rear pads and the edges of the front pads. I then baked them in the oven following the directions on can but only for 10-15 minutes. No more green.

Sbkim,

I had the EBC Greens. I hated the stopping power. But, it gave me better pedal modulation for when I was first learning how to use the horrendous Viper brakes. I had several incidents of almost running into the person in front of me in day to day traffic.

I've gone back to stock pads after a year. I guess my braking foot has adjusted to the Viper, because I don't lock them up nearly as much anymore.

My suggestion... try the pads out. If you don't like them, sell them. They are only around $150 for the complete set, if I remember correctly...
