Looking at swapping out the stock cam for the mild Comp Cam. Just curious on how involved this is, and appoximate labor time. Does the radiator, etc.. need to be removed along with the hood? What about the whole block?
I have a 2001 ACR, and the car sounds too tame at idle compared to my 98 GTS. Plus it seems that something has got the 2001s down on power, so I thought this would be a good place to start. Will be doing heads, rockers, and intake while the engine is opened...
thanks!

Actually the radiator does NOT need to come out. If you remove the the coil pack and disconnect the motor mounts you can jack up the motor and slide the old cam out and the new cam in over the top of the radiator core support. Besure to degree the cam as some crank shaft keys are placed in the wrong position. I did my cam last month and the crank key was off 4 degrees...
Good Luck, Dan Vargus/PartsRack
