Roe Racing has a Carbon Fibre seven piece interior enhancement kit that is very reasonable and looks great. Check it out on their web site.

2. I have contacted Sean from RoeRacingOnline.com. They won't have their new Viper kits for 60 days. Even then, it is a do-it-yourself, and I am hoping for something even better, and more customizable (and obviously higher spend to get there).

Chris,
You must have me confused with another supplier. We have the 5 piece Carbon Fiber interior trim kits (tach / speedo, center gauge cluster, center console cover and door trim panels) in stock for GTS's and all 1997 and newer RT/10's. On sale at $249.95 plus S&H. As I said in my e-mail to you, it's not brushed aluminum and I don't know if it's what you're looking for, but here's a picture.

I talked to the manufacturer this morning and got the information. Here's what we can do:

The dash and door panels I put in the picture above can be custom made in your choice of: Black Carbon Fiber (shown), Brushed Aluminum, Red Carbon Fiber, Blue Carbon Fiber and Yellow Carbon Fiber. This applies to all Viper kits, 1992 to 1996 RT/10, 1997 and newer RT/10 plus all GTS's.

We have 12 kits of the Black Carbon Fiber in stock.

We can have you the brushed aluminum kit or any of the other custom colors in two weeks (+/- because of Christmas). The price for the custom 5 piece kits (GTS) will be our regular price of $279.95 and not the sale price we have this month on the in stock black Carbon Fiber kits.

Let us know if you'd like a set and we'll get your order started.

Thanks,

For what it's worth, we can also get them for most any current make and model in various materials, including wood. Durango in Burl wood shown.

Remember that the Viper interior is designed with soft plastics and rounded curves for a reason. Should you ever do a windshield taste test in a Viper you may be going considerably faster than you ever could in a TT. I've done it, I know. If you are going to include metal in your design make sure you put in 5 points and a roll bar. Putting in a potentially lethal component (like a metal trim blade) where it was not designed to be mounted on a platform that it was not intended for is a risky proposition.

That said maybe you should talk to the schools of design in L.A.. That's where most of the heads up styling comes from and they will know the shops that fabricate the parts for the show cars. Give the design guys at the big 3 automakers a buzz, they may have someone to recommend. Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll take your car on as a project though that may well take a little longer than a few weeks to execute. I agree the TT interior is cool, but it might be just as easy to stuff a 488 cube V-10 in one of those sleds as to re-gut a Viper.

Dodge will soon be coming out with an interior/exterior upgrade for the Viper with some pretty cool metal work, the Gen III car. But it'll cost ya...

Post pics of the project if you decide to move ahead. Keep glare and temprature considerations in mind with your design. And safety first!

Check this out, and we can add all that wonderful Carbon Fiber too. We also use a leather padding that is double the thinkness of the factory for a more comfortable seat. Thanks.

Take a look at the latest issue of Viper magazine for ideas. There are photos of how a German tuner mods the interior when they do a Viper..

Does anyone have the contact info for the School of Automotive Design in Pasadena. I may have the name wrong but I recall there is a college of car design out there and was thinking surely someone on this board knows an alum, student or instructor there. Also, where would you start in trying to get ahold of the guys that design and fab for the big three?

Nada, zero, zilch. A bit dissappointing, maybe no one wants the liability but with Christmas maybe they'll have a little time to catch up on their BBS readings. My fingers are crossed but it may be time to buy a scrap tub and start fabbing....
