They guys that put on my cats last weekend did
a really crappy job. At one point they got the
torch a little to close to the body and the seam
has separated a small bit.

I want to take this to a shop and have corrected,
but I'd rather leave the sills at home. Can I
drive the car about 10 miles with the sills off?

Antidotal evidence leads one to believe that driving without the side sills leads to a droneless experience.

If you do drive without the sills, please let us know if it's true.....

I wouldn't worry about it. I drove the GTS sill-less when I had the side sills repainted. Just watch your legs and don't wear shorts.

The did weld, problem was they used a torch
to heat the joint where the cat and muffer
connected.

In heading the joint, the plastic above it
got too hot and a seam appeared where the
two pieces join.
