Can I use AFT+4 oil in 2002 tranny ?

I just read in the Viper Magazine that some Viper trannies run on ATF+4.

Can I use the AFT+4 in the 2002 transmission ?

What is the difference between ATF+4 and manual synth oil 75w85 ?

Chuck Tator can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the older Borg-Warners were designed to have the Dextron III and later oils used in them. In 1998 or 1999 they switch to the 75-85 to help with NGR and to be used with the newer Tremec T-56s. I think that Tremic bought out Borg-Warner at about the same time.

I would like to know why we can't use the ATF+4 in the 98-06 transmissions.
