Sorry for being such a postmonger but just a few questions in anticipation of getting a new Viper shortly:

1) Can someone confirm the break in procedure for the SRT-10? A search of previous posts shows varying revs while keeping the revs to a maximum of 4000 rpm until 500 miles at which point you are home free. Can someone check their owners manual to confirm?

2) I assume the inserts on the seats (the parts that aren't leather) are a form of synthetic suede (also known as ultrasuede or alcantara). What is the OEM product or best recommendation for cleaning this material?

3) Finally, I assume the convertible top is a canvas material? Canvas impregnated with some sort of protectant or plastic material? Or is is a true cloth top?

Thanks again for your help!

Rich, I will take a stab at this as a relatively new Viper owner - your assumption regarding first 500 miles is correct - keep the RPMs under 4000 and goose along at various speeds with smooth shifts. I did this and am currently coming up on my first 500 mile oil change - all looks great! The seat inserts do look like some sort of synthetic suede but I assume a traditional suede cleaner would work just fine - perhaps some other forum members who have experimented might be better to provide some advice as I have yet to clean the suede - the convertible top is made from a canvas material - I used Ragg Top on the material and it looks incredible.

I wish you luck with your new Viper - I was a life-long Corvette owner (4 C5s and 2 C6s and on the list for a new Z06).. I became obsessed with the Viper and finally got one from Woodhouse about 2 weeks ago - the car is simply amazing - you will love it! I never thought I would find a car that completely satisfies every requirement - performance, fit/finish/ and of course the gawk factor - the Viper certainly does in every single category and then some - good luck and post pictures when you get the Blue SRT!
