I spend what feels like a month to get some diamond plate shiny again. I thought I was going to powder coat it clear but they tell me that it will slightly yellow as the powder coat burns on the pieces.
Has anyone ever seen diamond plate clear powder coated? Does it look like crap? Is there another color that you would choose instead?

Clear powder should not yellow. And yes you can do it.

If they are burning the powder find another shop that knows what they are doing. It's a melt cure, not a burn cure.

I have a factory optioned TrakRac below the bedrail aluminum diamond plate tool box in my pickup. It came powder coated silver with what looks like a clear coat as well. I was really bummed at first because it wasn't polished aluminum, after 3 yrs it still looks shiny and as new. The factory spent the extra money knowing most people would complain that there aluminum tool box would look like poop after a few short years. +1 for OEM.
