chainging coolant

Hey,

anybody who can tell me how to get rid of the last coolant in the overflow bottle? RT/10 92

Or do I just leave it and let it mix up?

Hi, Roy. I always siphon out that fluid by carefully feeding a small diameter plastic(PE)tube retrograde into the overflow spout at the top of the bottle, then down into it's base. Once residual removed...along with deposits...I refill the overflow bottle the normal way with distilled water, again removing all of the fluid, then I'm usually happy. I'll dig out a photo showing bottle's anatony and send it to you...remembering that 92 and 93 MAY be different.

You can **** it out using a turkey baster or shop vac or Mityvac or one of your drunk friends that you'd rather see dead in a few days. Just use the line from the coolant tank to the overflow bottle.

Drive the RF nose of the car up onto curb stops and sidewalks when you park. Do this often enough and one of the fascia bolts will do the job for you.

Thanks for the replies, I happen to have a "friend" with a yellow Viper, I just tell him it's perfectly normal to **** it up!

@steve: what is a retrogade (I only know Gatorade)

Sorry, Roy... I slipped into the language of my former life.

Retrograde, in this case, merely means feeding the tube "backwards"...feed tube INTO the bottle through the normal EXIT port. The exit *** is what you see on the left side of the photo that I sent. The port on the top right of that phoro is the fill port on later Gen I's and all Gen II's.
