Check Engine Light

It's now coming on every so often, and the motor has started to run a bit rough. I wanted to check here first to see if there is a commom cure before I took it in for service.

New plugs and wires about 1500 miles ago. Any help would be great.

You need to know what engine code is making the light come on. Get it scanned at autozone. Then report back what the code is.

Go to Pep-Boys and buy a code reader. It's not expensive, and you can clear some codes yourself.

Just a thought..Did you lose your gas cap? or is it loose? Get AutoZone to check it for you..Easy things first!!

Perhaps an o2 sensor. Happened to me. Get it check for free, then buy a reader.

If the light is coming on periodically, I would suggest re-checking the plug wires, maybe one is loose. If you had an 02 sensor fail, it would stay lit all the time.

Go to Advance Auto and you can pull the code for free.

get a code reader and id bet the O2 sensors
