I use a trickle charger in winter attached thru wires installed in the engine compartment, so I never see the battery. I was starting a Viper project and needed to disconnect the battery. Under the battery tray area on the frame rail I found white debris typical of a leak. Took the battery out, and one side was wet with debris and light damage on the tray and edge of the frame rail 
Most of you know about this but for those who haven't checked lately, get a look under there and make sure you have no leak going on
