Had sway bar replaced and B&M shifter installed. Now have a clunk/knock when shifting gears that wasn’t there before. I’m reading that it can be normal on these cars, but it wasn’t there before the work was done.

Thoughts?

Sounds like the sway bar is moving and hitting something or your linkage in the shifter isn’t properly aligned…either way there should be no noises. I’d take it back to the place that did the work.

My ‘98 Roadster made a loud clunk or bang- aft of the cats/ battery box area, when I was practicing drag strip launches; clutch dumps. Car had 1,000 mi from brand new, and all stock. I pulled off the back wheels & noticed nothing. Me & the local Track Rats were stumped.
Gingerly drove from track to Stealership with possible imaginary frame, trans or diff mount crack(s).Their Viper Tech spotted the Rear anti-sway bar installed upside-down, from Connor Avenue (!) Easy fix, zero damage, warranty covered. Good Hunting to you!
