Clutch Pedel a little loose at the top?? Is it normal?

I cann't remmeber if its always been this way but the clutch pedel is loose (like it doesnt have tension on it at the very top). When the pedel is at rest and I reach down with my hand (not when im driving )the pedel will move about 1" down before I feel pressure on it? I hope this is making sence? It almost feels like a spring inside the footwell should be holding it tight when it comes back up. The clutch feels fine when engaging etc. Anyway does this sound normal or something I should check into? The car only has 5300 miles on it.

That's clutch travel freeplay - you're supposed to have about an inch at the top like that for proper adjustment. You're good to go!
