Last night was the first time I had parked my 94 RT/10 next to a newer RT/10, some thoughts:

1. No sidepipes...
2. What are those things...door handles????
3. Roll up windows, how convenient Ugh!!!
4. Tailpipes!!!!
5. Why did they move the radio?

I new all of these differences before of course, but there is something about actually seeing the cars side by side (not many Vipers around here). In the future I believe that car collectors are going to consider all RT/10's after 95 to be "not really as desireable". Sort of the way they do the Mid-year Vettes today. JMHO.

There's is definitely a uniqueness of character to the original, and I think the debate over pros and cons will go on until all of us are too old to talk or type!

In a perfect world, one of each would suit me just fine! Oh, and of course, a GTS as well!

GenI RT/10 is great, but personnally I like the GenII better for many reasons. The GenII interior is much nicer, it handles better, performs better, and I would agree that it looks meaner also. What I do miss in the Gen II is the side pipes!! Those really set off the GenI!! That is only my feelings. I also feel all Vipers are great and I would love to have a '92, GenII, and 2003!! But wouldn't we all!! ----->>No more Vettes though!!

I thank everyone for their comments but I think you've missed the point.

By making the Viper more user friendly, i.e. better handling, door handles, roll up windows etc....They got away from what was great about the car in the first place. It is a "street legal race car" (circa mid 60's Cobra)!

Loud - Love it!
Twitchy - Hell Yes!
Leaks - Who Cares!

Heck if you want all those creature comforts, you can get them in a Vette. The car of choice for middle age women.

Point taken. Along the same line of thought, if a replicar 70s hemi cuda was built today many would jump at the chance to own one.

As this may appeal to many, my opinion is that Dodge should continue to integrate the latest technologies in to the Viper. Not to make it more like a Vette, but to keep it competitive with the other exotics as they change with the times.

I guess it is just what you want out of the car... a look back or a look forward.

Agreed...But I think that Dodge should dicontinue the VIPER rather than screw around with it. Then they should build a new, better car on say the "Copprehead" concept car (500HP Hemi?). Think about it. They could trump the competition with another kick-*** car plus let the Viper be another highly sought MOPAR "classic". To me this is such a no-brainer I don't understand why the suits at DC don't get it.

YOU WANT DODGE TO DISCONTINUE THE VIPER? huh? Just so your GenI can be an investment I take it!??

Geez, I hope they don't discontinue the Viper! Jumping from a GenI to a GenII is like going from a fast VW bug to a Faster Caddilac(sp?). Love the sidepipes though!!!
