In their class, Joseph and John made it through a large field of cars to meet in the semi-finals. Joseph and his DLM car pulled out a win against John and then went on to beat a V8 powered Ford Ranger with huge rear tires in the final. In the semi's, there were three cars left, the Ranger had a bye run so John Finished 3rd. The class was ANYTHING goes street type car with tire limited to no better than a drag radial.
Joseph had a new best on drag radials ..... 10.44 in the HEAT/HUMIDITY.
John probably drove farther to get there than ANYBODY else at the race !!!!!

ALSO....I learned that Joseph is going to be a papa !!! Congrats to Joseph and Wendy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the invite Tony. Well worth the trip. The 141 mph run was quite impressive yesterday. Looked really fast from where I was sitting.

Very Cool Joseph, keep up the good work. I'm real sorry I missed you guys this weekend. I was hoping to attend and set a new time for my RT/10. My car is at Elite and Scott said that I'll have it by this weds ready to roll! Count me in on the next event. :2tu:

Thanks y'all! It's good to be learning to drive.

I have a video (from the inside) of the 10.44 run... but I have no where to host it. Any of y'all got any suggestions (hint hint)?

Joseph, do you run with your air filter off? Do most guys do this?

What tire pressure did you run your drag radials at?

And like MaxedGTS asked, what RPM are you launching from and are you dropping the clutch or feathering it?

Congrats!

I thought I was leaving at 3200 and dumping the clutch. But according to my videos, I'm feathering the clutch and reving it up to like 5k. The videos tell a nice story... I can e-mail them to you or I might be able to find someone to post them.

Normally, for tire pressure, I run 15psi cold in the BFGs. But I'm a bad racer... I don't check it between runs.
