Converting a RT/10 to a GTS??

Excuse me for the ? wacky idea...but, would it be possible to convert a '94 roadster RT/10 to a coupe? I have a '97 roof-back (tub piece) and would like to know if anyone thinks if it could be done? The sport-bar may be a problem huh? Are the roadster doors the same as the coupe (except for power windows, entry etc) ie, are they the same shape, will they fit the coupe roof-back? ...are the rear frame rails similar? ...is the windshield different? Any ideas / info etc (other than why would you want to?!) would be much appreciated.

Probably a huge project considering they are very different internally, meaning the trunk area mostly, having to change the rear fenders rear facia, removal of the sport bar different interior or it would look like a total mess and a hack job.

Hows the rebuild of your car comming along???

I need to know if major panels would fit, so it Wouldn't look a mess!

Awaiting the parts for my GTS, including front frame, on ship from Partsrack via the ocean. (Thanks for asking)

I'm getting desperate, I really need to drive a Viper, I need therapy! Hense, considering the RT/10 (I'm a coupe fan, but once aquired I don't part with anything) That falling inlove stuff, you know!? I can see several months until Beloved will be terrorising the neighbourhood again!

I go by the rule "owning problems changing lives"
meaning YES i think you can make it work but it may be cost prohibitive.
I would think if you did swap out the whole rear section, and what my 2001 service manual calls (outer roof panel).it could be done.
You might want to try something new. How about a GTS/RT bascially a GTS with an awesome sunroof! (but then your hacking the above mentioned outer roof panel).

Interesting concept. I don't know enough of the structure
to answer you, but if in the meantime you wish to hop a flight to
Baltimore, we would be more than happy to provide a temporary 'fix' GTS drive, show you around Baltimore area, etc.
Good luck. hmm, a GTS with a sunroof.. always loved my Buick sun/moonroof.

well, when you're at the plant ( I see you're visiting soon) take a look at both an unskinned GTS and RT/10 tehy are pretty different. Probably best to ask about your idea when at the plant.

But hey, according to some, what do I know? I don't even own one!
