I have to post this because I am just A) Beside myself in hysteria and B) Amazed at the idiocy of some C6 owners.

I am pumping gas at the local gas station in my SRT on a Saturday nite with my girlfriend and this punk comes up to me all arrogant and asks "Tell me buddy, can your car beat my car?" and he points to his new C6 with a paper license plate (the paper plate basically says that the guy has owned the car for probably 1 or 2 weeks). I, immediately sensing his arrogance, respond with, "yea, it wouldn't be close".

He responds with "Yea right".

Then I retort, "Oh ya think? If you think your so fast, put your C6 up to my Venom 650R" (I also own a Venom 650R which is a lot faster than my SRT) - and he asks "whats that? Whats a Venom?".

Obviously, the market demographic for potential/current C6 owners are a bunch of envious punks who don't have a clue. (Not that there could be faster C6's with mods, but this guy was fresh out of the dealer).

Duh. CYA later with all the 40,000 other soon-to-be C6 owners.

What a retard. Give the guy credit for having the balls to even approach you!!! I never get any challenges from Corvette owners. They usually slow down 10-15 mph then turn off at the next street possible.

Just this weekend I had an idiot turn in front of me stop in the intersection while others had to swerve to miss them to ask if I wanted to race.

I read the posts on the Z06 boards, and those guys crack me up. There was talk on the board of how they felt a stock Z06 against a stock Diablo would come down to driver. So i go and get my friend, we race, i video the obliteration. post it for them. Then they go out with a modded Z06, 560-570hp against a virtually stock 6.0 and still couldnt win!

They dont appreciatte my comments on the Viper being the ONLY american sportscar.

And on the second run the corvette(or chevette for that matter) would win because the lambo would have no more clutch. :D

Your right, almost every corvette and viper on ebay with 8k or fewer miles brags about having a "new clutch".

I changed my RT/10's clutch at 25k miles. But once I had it out it was clear there was well more than 50% life remaining. So there was really no need to change except that I already had it apart. I would not say the clutch is a weak link unless you increase the torque a lot.

Sammy, im most certainly not lying, and i definately dont drive like an old lady. Why lie, if it needed a clutch, big deal, id replace it, not the end of the world as you make it out to be, although for you it might be.

Please inform us as to what you drive?

Yea, everybody loves to brag about dropping 6k-8k for a clutch. Anybody that believes the bs about 30k nitrous miles on any clutch(not just lambo) please speak up!

I've got 25K nitrous miles with no clutch problems so far. :2tu:

Of course having nitrous means that it's not used all of the time. 30K on the clutch of a supercharged, or twin turbo Viper (or Lambo) would be a bolder claim (IF) the driver did a lot of racing.

I like the C6 Corvette, but I'm not really worried about being beaten by any stock ones (even N/A). But the few young teens who are lucky enough to have a car like the C6 Corvette, or Mitsu EVO, or SVT Cobra often have a BIG chip on their shoulder (to go with their BIG insurance fees). And the Viper is quite a trophy to be judged against.

I see poor Sammy doesnt wish to enlighten us as to his vehicle ownership.

And btw, yes, ill brag, that if after 30k miles, 6 years of ownership my clutch went out, i could give a sh@t.

If your clutch eventually goes out, that just means that you have a car making some sick hp/tq #s and/or you're driving it agressively (like it was meant to be)!!!!! And Sammy (*** name, BTW) sees this as a bad thing?

Allan is a stand up guy I don't think he has any reason to lie.

He favors lambos over vipers ([******]) lol but I think hes telling the truth and I saw a pic of his lambo with NOS in it so I know thats true.

BTW I don't think anyone puts NOS in if they drive like an old lady if he drove like an old lady the stock lambo would be more then enough for him to use.

Now on to the post that was HIJACKED you should have just raced em in the SRT that would have killed em no need to for the vemon although it would smoke em worse and make him look like even MORE of a loser.

Hmmm........after running for years with folks at Viper Days, clutch replacement was virtually unheard of. The clutch in a Snake is one of the most durable around, and I honestly do not know anyone who replaced one. I imagine those drag racing ( in any car ) may have seen more of a concern, but that is the nature of that type of automotive sport.
