About to do a brake upgrade and I'm interested if anyone has had experience with cross drilled and slotted (both) rotors. I need replacements for 2 stock front SRT rotors and 2 stock front GEN 2 rotors.

Sean Roe and Eradispeed both sell slotted OR cross drilled (Eradispeed is actually out of stock) but I haven't found a "known" supplier who has slotted and drilled available. I see there are several ebay vendors who list them, but I'm not interested in buying rotors (or any parts for that matter) that are not made/supplied/distributed and guaranteed by one of our reliable Viper vendors. Any advice or suggestions?

Scott, Roe show cross drilling is available for $52ea extra

Your parts leave Tues for Chuck's  :usa:
They won't do both, Dave. Their manufacturer is not equiped to drill slotted rotors. They'd have to set up a new program to "avoid" the slots.

Do you plan on tracking the car?
If yes, then stay away from drilled. Drilling compromises the integrity of the rotor. Slotted ones crack bad enough when tracked hard.

when driving so slow do you ACTUALLY use the brakes ?

obviously in city's quest to save the tires he in turn is saving the life of the brakes.

I agree with LETHALGTS, stay away from drilled rotors. Above 120mph they are ineffective, the breaking surface is too much reduced and the rotor will crack no matter what.
For highspeed racing the best is just the full rotors anything else is just for the "look".

When you choose the rotors, select also a good set of pads. Roe has great rotors but stay away from the PCF pads. They are too agressive for street use and even tracking. Above 120mph the PCF pad will eat the rotors in 500mi.

Guys, I appreciate the advice, but I am pretty comfortable with slotted and drilled. I'm well aware of the downside of drilling and for my use, it's fine...as Baz and a few other scoundrels here have suggested (I do like the bling too).

My question is whether there are any out there available in the OE sizes I need from a reputable vendor?

Check out EBC. They have slotted and dimpled. They have direct OEM replacement (same weight) and an upgrade which I believe is a two piece, less weight.

If interested give Jon B a call to see if he has a set of Eradispeed drilled and slotted rotors in stock. He had the best price when I purchased mine. Eradispeed Rotors, I'm almost 100% sure, production process is cast. The drilled holes are not actually drilled but formed through casting. Therefore, the integrity of the rotor strength is not weakend by a drilling process. I have noticed the Eradispeeds to be exceptionally lightweight and run at cooler temps. than the stock rotors. I put 20,000 miles on mine so far and there's hardly any wear. You also may want to consider putting in stainless steel brake lines as well. Takes spongy response out of the brake pedal.

scott if you remember a few months back i went and got my viper measured by a brake manufacturer. they are here in NNJ. they had a slotted rotor with the holes drilled in the slot which is supposed to work better. it might not have the bling you want but id hook you up with them if ya like. they might even have the one ya like i just dont remember.

Well actually the the slotted rotors will stop you faster than stock full type rotor. What happens under heavy braking is your pad and rotor get extremely hot and produce a gas that forms between the the pad and the rotor creating a cushion. The slot or the holes allow the gas to escape allowing the brakes to be more effective.
The problem with "Drilled" is that they start to crack under high temps and pressure. There are rotors on the market that give you the holes that haven't been drilled and are much more stable under high stress loads.
However with our heavy cars, it's recomended that slotted should be used for track applications.
If you are not running a road coarse, then any of the above will be fine. Anything is better than the 40lb POS that comes on our Gen 1 & 2.
