Cruisin\' along the Danube (Donau)

Folks,

Wanted to share some pics of yesterday's cruise along the Danube.
The Viper changed nationality last week and is now officially an Austrian car. One of the 10 Vipers in this country...

While being used to a lot of attention in the US, the car is even more of a headturner over here. There's Carreras on every corner of the street. Also lots of Ferraris. Some Lambos. Apart from a Viper in the showroom of Chrysler Austria, haven't seen 1 Viper yet. It was sold for 145 K Euro by the way (175 K USD !).

So, here's the car in the Durnstein area (please note the 3 layers of wax):

Stay tuned for more European Viper action. Next week we have a meeting in the Alps, with 27 Vipers attending (mainly German and Swiss). We'll get back to you with lots of pics and stories :2tu:

Nice pics Yves! :2tu:
I had to put my sun-glasses on looking at your Viper [the glare], and I'm sure you don't get lost with that "co-pilot"! ;)

Yves,
Congratulations on getting your car over to you. It looks great (as does the co-pilot).

Andkovacs,

Shipping : 5,000 USd for a container (I put 2 cars in it, company paid)

VAT : normally 20% on value of the car. I didn't have to pay since I've owned the car for more than 6 months abroad.

Import tax : 6%. However, same rule as above.

NOVA : kind of an environmental tax. 16% of value of the car. To be paid after technical import of the car. Company paid it.

Technical import : this is the biggest headache of the whole process. Normally it means dealing with bureaucrats for several months. They can have you change the whole car. I skipped this process. The car never left my garage, but still passed technical inspection ;)

I was born in Vienna,so I know the country well....with its winding roads and beautiful scenery you fit in quite well.
There is one guy in Vienna who just had a Prowler shipped over-still waiting for the proper paperwork to finish the registration and all.
Great pics.
Are you yoddling yet?

Dr Viper, have your guy contact me in case he needs some help. Importing the Prowler may become a nightmare in case he doesn't know how to 'grease' the system.

Regarding the co-pilot, by popular demand :

These pics have been posted before. I'll try to take some new ones during this week's meeting in the Alps :headbang:
