Detailing the Viper (and other fine cars)

I'm thinking about detailing my Viper and other fine cars over the winter and maybe the spring. Would an orbital buffer leave swirl marks? Are there any techniques to using one so it wouldn't leave swirl marks? Or should I just do it by hand? And lastly, but not leastly, is there a better buffer that wouldn't leave swirl marks?

Go to www.offtopic.com and visit the "Show and Shine" thread. There is a professional detailer on there that does great work. I took his advice and bought the S100 that is available at Harley dealers, will never use anything else.

Here is a quick example of the S100 products on a black C5. It isn't rocket sicence either, looks the same on my '03 Impala.

You can also check out www.showcargarage.com for help and info. I use a porter-cable dual action set up like the one that Meguiar's sell's. Thiers has a lifetime war. You can also buy one at Lowe's which has a one year war. for $88.00 if it's still on sale.(1 year war.) When used with Meguiar's W-8006 or W-9006 pads "NO SWIRLS!" and you use less product! I would not be without mine! It make it alot eazier and the results are great!
