Do 1996 RT 10 and 1997 GTS share same A/c Compressor????

Just got a call from my viper tech and I need a new A/c Compressor says it will be $1200 installed. Is this high? accurate? and can I get an aftermarket compressor and let them install it b/c their compressor cost is $675 and $525 labor (Estimated) What do you guys think?
I have an A/c compressor off of a 1997 GTS and they are telling me it will not fit wondering anyone here knows the truth. Thank in advance for all of your help.

They are different. Call Chuck Tator for the part though.

If I looked it up correctly, it looked like you should be able to get a new OE one for around $460.

Not sure on labor, but I would guess you could easily spend 3-4 hours doing the job.
