Do Factory Amps work with Aftermarket Headunits?

I got new speakers and a head unit.

Can i just plug the RCAS from the factory amp in my 93 rt/10 right into the new head unit and everything work fine???

Or do I have to rewire every speaker away from the amps?

hey thanks but both of those are 98 GTS's

i have a 93 rt/10 , pretty sure they are different?

there is a 6 pin harness coming out of the car, and 2 sets of RCA's

so im guessing i can still use the factory amps but have to figure out how to wire up to the factory harness since noone carries it.

ok well i took it up to tweeter, guy said the factory amps should work, but they dont have a harness for it.


anyone know which color is what? or where i can find out which color wire is what coming out of the car harness?

also since the rear 2 speakers were little factory subs, he said the amp mihgt have a built in crossover to take out the highs

im putting in 6 1/2" regular speakers back there, not subs so does the factory amp for the subs have the ability to turn the crossover off? or am i screwed here
