The drivers door is rubbing on the bottom stripping on the door jamb. If I slowly close the door I can see a very slight rise in the door itself just prior to closing. I thought I had read some time ago a method to adjust the door so that this could be fixed. Nothing seems to be loose. The passenger door does not have the same issue, no evidence of rubbing.

TIA.

Take off the plate over the hinge, and mind the shims that may fall out when screws are removed. Then mark current locations of the hinge bolts on the frame, loosen slightly, while a strong, trusted friend gently supports door...a few tries, and you should be able to correct the problem...noting that it usually takes only a slight adjustment IF one is careful to minimize the movement of the bolts. Suggest that you lube that hinge and the hinge on the other side while you are at it...and do same yearly.

Steve, thanks. As I recall there are three bolts attached to frame. Is the adjustment vertical only or is there angular play as well?

General purpose grease ok for the hinge?
