Just got a P 1391 code today after driving my 02 RT. A couple of months ago I had heads and cam installed. Reused the position sensors and used a Cloyes assembly. However, in doing a search I noticed a few years ago that Greg B got the code just after washing his car, and apparently got water in the VEC. He recarded the VEC to solve the problem, and was advised to keep the VEC covered and protected from water. Coincidentally, I had just washed my car and did not dry under the hood as I almost always do, particularly the puddles on top of the wheel cover/shroud. So I'm wondering if this could be my problem, however, on my 02 I can't see the VEC....it seems to be hidden behind housing and not exposed. Wonder if this could be my problem? Any info or anyone with recent P 1391 code issues would be appreciated.
