Recently when slowing down to stop and the car is taken out of gear the rpm's will drop to zero for a split second and then go back to about 600 rpm at idle. At certain times the engine will completely die. There is no problem in restarting it after it has died. Is there an adjustment to throttle bodies, linkage or whatever that can be made to keep the rpm's from dropping to zero and prevent the stalling problems?

I had that happen to me about 3 weeks ago. I let the car warm up and took it out for a nice Sunday drive. About 2 miles from my house the engine just lost power and died in the middle of the street. I was able to coast into a neighborhood luckily. I tried to crank the car and it fired up. I took it home right then. Checked everything I could think of and could find nothing. Since then it has been fine but it sure did make me wonder what caused it to die like that. Let me know what you find out. Later!

Same thing here. I put a fuel pressure gauge on it and you could see the pressure drop to zero and then it dies. A viper tech checked it out but couldn't find anything and, of course, he couldn't get it to die for him.

Had this same intermittent problem on my 95. Do a search on this site and you will find a lot of suggestions. The tip that someone posted that worked for me involved removing the throttle bodies and adjusting the idle stop screw about 1/4 to 1/2 turn on each throttle body. Not sure if you have to actually remove the throttle bodies to make the adjustment, but I could not figure out how to reach the set screws without doing so. Maybe someone else can pipe in on this to make the job easier. This along with synchronizing the cables (Gen I only) did the trick! Hope this helps. :usa:

Check valve? Downstream of fuel pump? I had this problem after taking off jack stands once. Jacked up pretty good on one side while letting down. It went away. I'm having problems with my idle air control motor now.....on side of throttle body.....could be your culprit if it's starving air when you let off the gas. I have a short in mine, but didn't know it was there until the other day. Now that I know, I would suggest looking at it for trouble shooting your problem.

Thanks, RT/ED & Big Medicine for the info. I hope one of your solutions will cure this problem, it is driving me crazy.
