wish I could laugh harder - I just remembered getting my friend to tow my prized Mopar A-body backwards up my driveway so we could bring it back in backwards. The car was gutted and rolling chassis only.
the front was set up for a 440 so was quite stiff with no weight in it - and I have to navigate this thing backwards around a 90 degree turn to miss a pole then up the steep drive.
My mate figures his car is small so needs a run up - so in a fit of mensa like inspiration he roars away at full throttle to make it up the driveway - ripping me backwards, with super light steering and barely any brakes.
Well - I'm thinking "you DS.... slow down...." while telling myself "$@*! watch out for that pole" - missed the pole ok, but the front just skidded out with no weight over the loose gravel and aimed me straight into our apple tree!! Nothin I could do but watch as all steering was gone. BANG!
Not many 69 A-body Dart hardtop rear 3/4 panels and tail lights left so had to repair the guard, and get a remanufactured set of tailights....
I didn't go off on my friend.... what can you do.... anyway - it would have been good on video.
