Had Harland Sharp rockers installed along with new springs, pushrods and a valve spring upgrade kit in my 94 RT. My car has always made a little bit of a popping sound but now it has really intensified! I will be driving at 40mph in 2nd gear and the popping sound from the exhaust is intense. I like it, it sounds really mean, but why did it get so much louder after I had this done? Is it hurting anything? Any input would be appreciated. :D

Aye Poppy! Poppies are good as long as they happen off the gas instead of on the gas.

Slighty into the gas is when it happens most. Also pops when downshifting but really picked up when just cruising at a steady speed.

it's just unburnt fuel that is doing that. The Vipers run rich on deceleration. It's normal. It's not hurting nothing

On a serious note, my 02 does the same thing, in fact intensified after adding roller rockers. Took my tech for a ride, says normal. Put on Belanger headers and randon tech ctas and borla cat back. Only happens after heavy acceleration and letting the engine wind down on its own.
I wouldn't worry unless it backfires.

Alrighty then! No worries here, does sound kinda cool though.

It does sound cool, but I think unburnt fuel out the back may be horsepower lost. My car did that too before adding the VEC1. I had also run a Mopar race computer on my car for a while(big popping/gurgling on deceleration--sounded great!). However, dyno runs proved significant HP loss with the race computer. With the stock PCM, HP&torque were still 14&20 less respectively than with the VEC1. I now get no exhaust popping under high RPM deceleration. I get just a little from 15MPH to idle. It might sound nice, but it's lost power.
