I have a 2001 RT/10 and the factory hardtop rattles. Is there a fix short of removing the top?

This may help as it helped me. The factory hard top attaches to the bolts located under the sport pad with those "clothespin" type latches. You can adjust those latches to create a tighter fit by loosening the screws on the clothespin and sliding part of the pin up or down to create a tighter fit. This helped me. Over time, I've had to adjust this a couple of times. There may be another solution out there but this one helps.

You can also lubricate the gaskets on the hard top where the top contacts the windshield frame and the sport bar. I've used the NAPA silicone grease for this but recently bought some of the Shin-etsu grease and used it on my Accord. Very impressed with how it quieted the gasket squeaks and it really soaks into the gaskets.

There will always be rattles, all you can do is adjust the clamps as tightly as possible and turn up the stereo.

One thing I've noticed is that when I stored my car with the top off, it would fit much more snugly when I did put it on and rattle less. When it's left on the car all the time it rattles more--take it off for a while and put it back on and the rattles aren't nearly as bad.

Squeaks can be attacked with some clear silicone grease.
