It costs more if you have stripes and they would need the car to line up everything. I was quoted $1200 by a non-dealer establishment.

Price can greatly vary from shop to shop. One guy quoted $650. He wanted to remove the fascia and "do it the correct way". I ended up paying $250 from a shop that did not remove it. But why waste the $$ you will only have to do it again in a couple of weeks when you hit a speed bump, driveway or parking curb. Unless you can see it from the front wait until you have to have something else painted ( hopefully you won't) and do it then.

It has collected chips over time, it's time for a repaint. Last time it was painted the original paint was not stripped, so you can see some tiny paint cracks. I'm gonna have it stripped and painted fresh.

I had mine done at Fitzgerald's body shop, now called Mike's Quality Car Care, for $500. That included the dealer cut to have the nose removed, transported (about 500 ft.) to Mike's, painted and reinstalled. I've got a blue/white '97 GTS. They did a very good job and used the right flexible paint. It's a perfect match.

After the new paint job, I immediately had a 3M clear bra installed. No more chips for me! Now if they'd only invent a bug repellant, I'd be set.

I was wondering the same thing. A shop quoted me $400.00 to just remove a bunch of scratches. It does not include repainting. A woman backed into my car and created the scratches.

Just keep in mind that if you ever get rid of the car a dealer might notice it when the evaluate the car with the paint meter. They might think the car was in an accident.
