Well, finally got around to finishing detailing my '98 RT after complete wetsanding and buffing (other thread). Car came out awesome (if I do say so myself) and wanted to shoot some pics up in the scenic hills of Connecticut. Here are a few...

This is pretty high up, hard to get that sense in the photos (though the last one gets close)

And, no, that white around the driver's headlight is not wax....just reflection of the sun....

And, today's drive with the top off, just reinforced why I chose to buy an RT/10 rather than a GTS. For me it is a spectacular ride to drive the RT in the sunny weather, low 80's, and hearing the motor....

Don't get me wrong, I love the GTS and came real close to buying a B&W....but the top off driving was the deciding factor. Never looked back and second guessed my decision....of course, part of it is living up here in the CT hills, where driving is just "nice"

Thanks Venomiss, been waiting to go up to this spot to take some pictures, but it has rained so much up here...today was a beautiful day. And, I finally got around to cleaning the windows and the wheels.

Now I can start to focus on some performance mods....will probably do a catback system, also considering red calipers but not sure want to upgrade entire brake system to do so. Do want to change rotors to drilled/slotted.

Thanks everyone, appreciate the compliments. Now, on to some performance mods over the next year or so.

I love that spot, well known up here as it is across the road from White Silo Winery, a well known CT winery that produces fruit (non-grape) based wines.

Still have to try out this new paint gloss enhancer by Mother's - "Top Coat". I'm always looking for more/deeper shine.

Adrian....are you going to the Marcus Dairy event on Saturday? Didn't get a chance to look at the list of attendees.

And by the way, for anyone who read the wetsanding posts, here is the back of the car..finished. All the imperfections that were present on the trunk are now gone and the finish is consistently nice all around the car:

Thanks Hiss....love your B&W, my favorite (after my RT of course!). For those who missed the wetsanding posts, here are a couple of the "before" pics of the trunk "issue" that caused me to start wetsanding:

Now it is what I would expect from a car like a Viper...

What grit did you use? My fear with wet sanding is that the clear might already be so thin.

I used 2000 on most of the car. There were a few spots of orange peel that seemed to warrant using 1500, but that was lightly and carefully. The 2000 works fine if you are just looking to take off the impurities in the paint and minor imperfections. You have to be careful that you are not trying to correct major imperfections in the paint and, more importantly, not trying to correct imperfections in the fiberglass.

I would start with an area that is not too visible like bottom of the door, just to make sure you are comfortable with the process. After sanding, I buffed with polishing compound to smooth out most of the scratches from the sandpaper, then liquid paint cleaner to finish off before waxing.
