I purchased a painted hood pad and I am at the point where I have my hood pad off but there seems to be , what looks like ground wire, attached to bolts under the wiper console.

My question is what are these wires for?
How do I get the hood pad off? Do I need to remove the wipers first and then the console in order to access those bolts. ?

Thanks
Patrick

Each side has static/ground wire(black) which afixes to plastic fasteners. Removal is straight forward: if you have a door panel removal tool the fasteners come off after you use a small flat head screw driver to lift(raise) the lip enough for the tool to grap it. No need to touch anything else. The aformentioned wire attach points will come off after the fasteners are removed.

I see art so you are leaving the existing wiring and disconnecting from the hood pad as opposed from the bolts attached under the wiper assembly. I hope I can find the tool you are talking about.............I will try home depot today.

Thanks

Thanks for the response but I had a thought.

Why not cut the wire to the old hood pad and join it to the wire cut from the new hood pad. Will this cause ground interference? Seems like an easier way to go.
