Fellow Viper owners!

It's time for the next event so mark your calendars or just check ours! Central Texas VCA calendar

Event: VCA Drive to the Texas Mile in Goliad, TX

Austin Meeting Place: Cabela's, Buda, TX 78610
San Antonio Meeting Place: Biff Buzby's, (12702 Toepperwein Rd, Live Oak, TX 78233)

Time: Saturday, October 23, meet at 8:30am, leave at 9:00am

Description/special instructions:

The Central Texas VCA is going to head to watch some MONSTER cars (including a few of our members) tear it up at the Texas Mile! If you've never been it's truly a spectacle and guarantees to be a good time!

The Austin group will meet at Cabela's at 8:30am to head to the Mile at 9:00am. It's around 120 miles so it'll take us an hour to 2 hours to get there, depending on who is setting the pace. The San Antonio group will be meeting at Biff Buzby's at 8:30am and leaving at 9:00am. Both groups will be meeting at Buc-Ee's Gas Station in Luling (10070 W IH-10, 78648) at 10am to fill up and continue the journey to Goliad together.

The spectator gates in Goliad open at 8:00am and the runs start at 8:30am (more information on the schedule and the Mile at TEXAS MILE // OFFICIAL SITE // 3 DAYS, 1 MILE: NO SPEED LIMIT). Admission is $10/person, so be sure you bring cash. If you have room, a lawn chair or two in the trunk will behoove you. They do have refreshments on-site, but when the track shuts down for lunch the wait grows exponentially. If you plan on eating bring some extra cash for that. They also have t-shirts and souvenirs available for purchase to commemorate your trip.

Once we're there, ART has reserved us parking in the pits so we can park our Vipers up front, close to the action! We'll be able to line our cars up by their trailer and watch them and all of the other Mile participants compete! For those of you that went to VOI, you may have seen the Mile machine that ART has been toiling away on for the past year; with enough power to move a nation and a gearbox that will approach 300mph it's going to be serious.

If the reserved parking and great seating weren't enough, ART has stepped up AGAIN and is giving away another $1000 in prizes to the VCA members that attend! They're supporting us, so let's get out there and support them at the Mile! Of course, the camaraderie and cools cars never hurt either...

ADDITIONAL EVENT:
If you're game, Kurt and Yvette have arranged the cart track rental in San Antonio for Saturday evening and would love for you to come along and help celebrate Kurt's 33rd birthday! If you plan on going carting please reply to Yvette at [email protected]. You'll need to wear long pants (not those short pants) and closed-toe shoes. You can bring your own helmet or they can provide you with one as well. It's $65 per person. Those going to the carting track will need to leave Goliad around 3:30pm or 4:00pm. More information on the venue can be found at: Alamo Karts, meeting rooms, Texas Hill Country. Kurt said he'd accept gift certificates to Bed, Bath & Beyond for his big day, but would be content with our company if no one wanted to splurge!

See you there!
