I would guess mine is about 410 at the wheels, but the 96's had 415 vs. the 95 and earlier had 400. My best time at the track is 12.3@115, but I was granny shifting. I can get high 11's. I am consistant in the 12.4 range, I just got to learn how to shift

When my Gen1 was stock except Headers did I pull 11.85/120mph on the dragstrip. Which I would say is about 450+hp based on the trapspeed.
I have now done a top end job and is now pulling 10.70/130mph on motor only, that is with stock computer. The dyno says 643hp/663torque on flywheel.
I will start tuning the nitrous system this weekend, a 9 sec run with my old Gen1 is the goal.

Is there any way you could let me know what you've done to your engine and what parts you used? Because I'm looking into doing the same thing to my engine and I need info for my mechanic.

-Thanks

I don't know guys. I think that the question was asking about stock Gen I Vipers, and the HP numbers were around 380RWHP/430RWTQ, 0-60 in 4.6, 0-100 in 10.7, 1/4 mile in 12.9@115MPH. Which was very impressive for any stock car in the early 90s.

I have seen bone stock gen 1's pull from 370-390, which is way over what they are supposed to have.

The 1/4 mile time should be considerably better than a 12.9 if the mph is 115. Hell according to zo6 guys they run 11's at 113.

JP - How do I see the movie?

And right now with full aftermarket exhaust, I'm at
404 rwhp and 502 rwtorque.

After recent dyno tuning of the nitrous, my '93 Gen I is now putting down 746rwhp and 885rwtq. It took a large bar of lead and two people sitting on the back holding it down to keep from spinning on the dyno.
Motor mods include
97 GenII Cam
Heads w/ 2.00/1.60 valves, Compcam springs, titanium retainers, Compcams push rods
T&D roller rockers
Borla headers and Sean Roe 3" exhaust through high flow cats
Dual stage nitrous: 1st stage: BTR nitrous/propane 2nd stage: custom independent hi pressure fuel system with timed relay trigger
Gotta get the bottles filled....

I pulled 482rwhp and 498rwtq on the motor. I am quite pleased with this Gen I motor with stock bottom end. My rwhp increased from 418 with the addition of heads and cam, torque only increased by about 10lbs. It actually puts out 5 more hp than a local Gen I Venom 600.

A new update on the Gen I horsepower and torque.
On tuesday we took a few (5) Vipers down to the local dyno for some tuning time.
My '93 stock bottom end pulled 798rwhp and 1042rwtq on the 2 stage nitrous setup.
That makes a 323 hp and 521 tq shot of nitrous and she loved every bit of it.
Dyno sheets will be up soon at cruisenights.com

Most of the Gen 1's dyno I have seen were between 375-390rwhp, but the TQ numbers were always above 430rwtq.

My 94 hit about 700 RWHP on the spray before wheels started spinning, so couldn't get any higher than that on the reading. Was about 100 degrees that day and the car dyno'd about 40 HP lower than normal without the NOS, so I am guessing I was around 750 RWHP. Taking it back to West Coast Viper for some final tuning this week.

Superbar, put some people on the back of the car to hold it down, trunk lid up and them sitting on the bumper.
The tires on my '93 are bald, so it took 200lbs of lead bars and an extra battery in the trunk, me in the driver seat, the dyno tech in the passenger seat and two people on the back bumper to hold it down on the dyno and keep it from spinning.

SlayTay,

I agree with Phil, nice write up at your website!! Two stage system seems to be the way to go.

I presently have my engine out, for a complete rebuild, with Heads and Cam set up. Can't wait to have it back together in a week or so, get it broke in and see what the N2O will do then. As I made the numbers below on a virtually stock car.

Nice schematic drawing too.
