I have the greenstuff pads but I feel they lack bite and need a hell of alot of pedal pressure. I have ABS and find it very hard to lock the wheels??

Welcome to the land of compromises! ;)

Green stuff sacrifice some performance for less dust. If you are OK with that, then fine. Otherwise, get out your duster - because good pads create dust.

I second the brakeman 3 request. I get mine from JonB @ Partsrack. can't say enough good things about him or the brakes.

And one more thing about the brakes.... do them yourself. Takes all of 30 minutes to do all 4 corners (including removing the tires). don't get suckered by a dealership for $250+ dollars...

Good luck!

Uh, Carl, ABS means you should indeed find it hard to lock the wheels.

In my experience (two RT/10s), EBC Greens increased my stopping power and increased the ability to modulate the brakes at the limit of lock (i.e. in an autocross situation). What am I missing that many people seem to find the EBC Green's LESS grippy?

Perhaps the stock pads improved in the past 3 or 4 years?

I'll take the dust. Just wipe the wheels off after every drive. Oh BTW, great color combo.

Try wiping the ACR wheels after every drive. I spend more time cleaning my wheels than I do cleaning the car itself.

Carl,

Did you prep your rotors with the 3M Brake Resurfacing kit or equivalent?

Did you change your fluid too? Motul or Castrol SRF?

Neither the stock pads or the EBC's will handle the heat or have as much stopping power as the brakeman #3's period!
I keep brakeman #3's on hand for the track and run my EBC greens on the street.

If you will notice, I never said that EBC Greens would handle the track, as I was discussing street use.

I currently use EBC Yellows on the track (although the general consensus seems to be that there are better pads for the track out there).

Carl- Did you bed them in correctly? I have experienced plently of bite with them... enough to lock 'em and ruin a set of tires anyway...

EBC Greens honestly **** for agressive street driving. If your a queen, then use them, drive slowly, smile and wave at eveyone, and keep 100 yards distance between you and them. lol

Honestly, I have tried, PFC, EBC, stock (Brembo) and Brakeman 3.

I can honestly say the EBC's are significantly LESS grabby then even the stock pads, what makes it worse, is when I go from a track weekend, using B3's to going to EBCs. I have bought 1 set of EBCs (damn do they last though, I have had them on the car foe ever), and it will be my last. I dont mind taking out a hose a little more often for the better braking characteristics of all the other pads.

I can't stand the amount of dust I get with the stock pads. I'm going to EBC greens when it's time to change (which it looks like will be quite awhile; these stock pads have a ton of life of them). I don't drive aggressively enough to need instant-stop power. If I can push the pedal hard enough to lock 'em up, then it's enough stopping power for me.

I have had great perf. with the RED ebc pads and not that much dust. Also I just ordered another set from AJ USA. Best price around at $89.10 and FREE shipping!!!! They also have the optima batteries, ebc green, hawk pads, and tons of other parts at great savings.
