I went out to my 06 Viper SRT-C yesterday and fired her up. Suddenly all my gauges went haywire. My check engine light, ABS light, and brake light warning light came on an off at 20 (or so) second intervals, my warning chime was chiming, and all my temp/pressure guages went to zero intermittantly while the red LED in each guage stayed on. Guages went from zero to what appeared to be regular readings every 10-15 seconds then back to zero. I also noticed the tach movement was not smooth and fluid but jerky. Car is at Dodge now. Any ideas? Has this happenned to anyone before? :(

The latest is that they ordered a new guage cluster. They "think" mine might have shorted out for some reason. It will take 6 days to get my cluster from detroit.

You might want to try resetting the ecm and see hwat happens.

REMOVE THE KEYS AND PUT THEM IN YOUR POCKET

OPEN HOOD AND REMOVE FUSE BOX COVER.

REMOVE TWO 10MM BOLTS FROM MAIN BATTERY CABLE AND ISOLATE THE CABLE FROM ANY METAL.

REPLACE THE BATTERY CABLE, CLOSE THE FUSE BOX AND THE HOOD.
INSERT YOUR KEY IN THE DOOR SWITCH UNDER THE DRIVERS MIRROR AND TURN
THE KEY TO UNLOCK THE DOOR WHILE PUSHING SLIGHTLY AGAINST THE DOOR.
GET INTO THE CAR AND DO NOT TOUCH THE CLUTCH, BRAKE, OR GAS PEDAL
INSERT THE KEY AND TURN ON UNTIL THE DASH LIGHTS LIGHT UP. DO NOT START CAR!

WAIT UNTIL EVERYTHING RECYCLES, ALL LIGHTS ON THE DASH ARE NORMAL, AND
THE RADIO/CD PLAYER STOPS MAKING NOISE.

TURN CAR OFF.

START UP CAR AS NORMAL, LET IT WARM UP AT IDLE, AND CHECK FOR LEAKS.

Thanks for the info. I'd like to think they tried that but you never know. The tech did say the digital info from my ECM was good at the input to the guage cluster but obviosly bad at the guage cluster. This *****. The car is only a month old...

That does ****. A one month old car that costs what a viper does should not break down. .

Good luck and let me know what you find out.
