I have been having a problem starting my Viper up recently. It used to be occasionaly I would have to try to turn it over two times before it would start, but recently it seems to happen almost every time I start the car. Someone told me that the fuel pump was draining down and not to worry, but I'm worried. Has any one else had this problem. Suggested fixes? Price? and best place to be repaired in MD area?

PS. This is what makes the Viper Community special!!

Could be leak down as you mentioned...as a simple test cycle the key on to the run position (NOT START) then off- then on -off-on-off- then ON and START...if it fires right up likely that leak down is the problem. The fuel pump on our 95 was replaced under warranty...guess the cost would be $800.00 or so, noting that a GTS may be easier than an RT/10.

I seem to recall someone (maybe TomF&L GoR) writing about rebuilding the pump for a lot less.

Hopefully, someone better informed than I will jump in to help....

OR, this would be a great time to go meet Chuck Tator !!!

Good luck, and please let us know outcome.
