Has Anyone\'s Gas Light In Their Car Ever Come On?

I cannot seem to get mine to come on. I just wanted to know if the thing works. I know the gas gauge is not completely accurate but I have had it on zero and no light has come on. I thought there wasn't a light but a friend of mine told me there was. Has anyone's ever come on before? If so how much time do you have to fill up before you run out of gas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No light that I know of in my 2000 RT/10 and I do not think any Gen 1/2 had a light. My SRT/10 has a low fuel light and an audible chime when it gets really low.

The fuel light is supposedly on both the GEN I and GEN II cars but in different places. On the GEN I cars it is in that center display but on the GEN II it is in-between the signals on that little tiny display for the signals. You need to look real closely on the GEN II cars to see it.

Put on a supercharger on your Viper and drive it hard and you will see the gas light. Mine has come on several times, I think it is on the gas gauge itself though.

This will really suprise me if the Viper has one, as I have driven it for 2 years, and HAVE NEVER seen a Gas light.

I've never seen a gas light come on, but then again, as thirsty as the Viper is, I never get "that" low on gas!!

For a low fuel light to come on in your car, would mean you would have to take it out of the garage!

I am confident there is no low fuel warning light, as I did actually run out of gas once! I have never seen a low fuel light on my car, then or any other time.

F355, back from the parking lot. Yeah the little gas pump symbol in the fuel gauge lights up when it is super low. It doesn't seem to come on with the ignition, but I have seen it several times when it is way low, I think it glows yellow/orange. My car is an 01.

There is no low fuel light.

There may be a spot for one on the idiot light cluster, but there's nothing in the tank to tell it to come on. My guess the idiot light cluster is a parts bin part from something else - and THAT car has one.

But not the Viper.

I have to check that out. I hope it does have a light. The Viper is the only car I have ever owned that is so much fun to drive, by time I look at the gas gauge it buried on "E". I don't like to run it down on the chance it picks up crud from the bottom of the tank.

Shoot, now I am gonna have to flog it all the way home to see if I can empty the tank out and see if that little gas pump lights up!

I really don't think there is a light.
I had mine soo low this past weekend....I thought for sure I would run out of gas.
I have also checked the shop manual and did not see any description for a low gas light. All the other lights were listed though.

I do not think there is a low fuel light. I saw no mention in my '01 service manual. Probably why most cars still have about 4 gallons in the tank when the needle says empty.

I ran out of gas once lucky for me it was JUST as I pulled into the mobil station but never got a gas light.

In one of my Vipers...I think my former '96 GTS, I remember seeing in that little cluster of idiot lights, and tire pressure monitoring type of icon. It seems to me that I must have had the car just right in the light that you could see the little outline.

Never saw a low fuel light though.

Folks, if Janni says there is no light, and I have gotten my car to 18.5 gallons worth of fuel I had to add of the 19 gallon tank, there just cant be one. Jdawg is pulling your leg F355, move on.

I think the "low fuel light" for dodge is the fact that your fuel guage will be burried into zero, and you STILL have 3-4 gallons of gas left.
