Hey guys....been out of town for a while and discovered something I didn't like today. I have the original car cover that came with my '94 on the car. I have the car stored in a car port that is open on the opposite end. Due to the drastic change in weather here in Columbus during the past week, I noticed a huge amount of condensation on the snake....trapped between the cover and paint....or on the paint. Do you think this will cause paint damage or is the cover breatheable enough where it will not matter??? What should I do. I'm already preparing to repaint the sills...don't want to turn a couple hundred dollar job into a couple thousand. Please help. Thanks

If you have condensation under the cover then its no good for outside..that moisture will fog up the paint eventually the cover you have is not designed properly for outdoors..get yourself a top notch outsoor cover if thats where the car will be for awhile..

Yah, maybe I should. I didn't think it would be a problem...and it's not really outdoors exactly...but I guess it is enough that it will be a problem. Anybody have any suggestions or want to trade covers??????

My '94 came with a nylon cover that I suspect would trap condensation as well. You can get a great cover from your local Dodge dealership. For around $200.00 you can get a custom Viper car cover that fits your snake like a second skin. It has the sneaky pete logo on the hood and comes with a great tote/storage bag. The cover is VERY breathable, and just might solve your problem. I purchased this cover this fall and in my opinon is the best.

This cover is the factory cover that comes in the grey bag...it's not nylon. It seems to be made of perforated cotton. Where can I get a heavy duty outdoor one?

The factory perforated cotton cover is the most breathable one I know of. In this case it might be better to leave your snake uncovered until the weather stabilizes. Make sure the underside of your snake is not covered with condensation.

I would just use a thin brathable one made of cotton or another type of breathable fabric. The one I use for outdoors is not water proof or even resistant to water all it does is protect from the suns rays. The car stays uncovered when it is in the garage which has been for almost the last 2 years.
